Verdun is a borough in the western tip of Montreal situated along the St Lawrence River. It is predominately French speaking and has a population of 70,000 residents according to 2016 consensus. Its amenities include natatorium, public-access docks, a marina, open-air dancing shell, football & baseball fields, hockey arena, concert hall, bicycle paths, soccer fields, hospital, library, schools, shops, restaurants, cafés to name some.
Nun’s Island is an island located in the St. Lawrence River that forms part of the city of Montreal; it is part of the borough of Verdun. It has a population of 18,000 residents according to 2011 consensus and is primarily composed of residential apartments, condos, row houses, semi-detached and detached houses. It has seen a very high growth rate in comparison to other areas of Montreal as well as lot of development in the real-estate sector. Its amenities include parks, library, a community center, ecological golf course, schools, shops, restaurants, cafés to name some.
